I have spoken to the owner and advised that i am a novice owner/rider and am worried about spoiling him due to his age, she has advised me that in her opinion he can't be easily ruined.
He is gorgeous though and she is taking him to a show tomorrow - unfortunately i have been ill this week so can't go and watch damn!

Any thoughts on him good or bad

He looks very sweet but IMO 3 years old is just too young for a novice. I don't mean to sound harsh but I think you may be better off with something with more experience.

Find something a bit older first.

He looks a really nice sort but the only thing I would say is that he is young and will have lots more learning to do and I wonder how you as a novice would help him achieve this. If your plan is to have lots of lessons and support fair enough but sometimes older horses make better prospects for new / novice owner riders.

I agree too - i see so so many people come unstuck buying young horses thinking they will ' learn together' - you wont learn together at all honestly you need alot of experience, confidence and mostly patience to bring on a youngster. It really isnt a good idea for a novice rider to have an inexperienced horse and imho its just not fair on the horse.

Look for a horse just like him but 10 years older and you'll have a ball. Young cobs tend to go through the "Kevins" at about 5 so him being a nice quiet lad now doesn't necessarily mean anything.

No connection to it, just had a quick look on Horsemart for cobs! It is a trade ad and I've no idea if the dealer is a good one or not but the horse in the pic looks a good cob.

How true lol.....ours is a bit of a Kev at present bless him.....easily sorted if you know what you're doing but I would honestly go for a 'schoolmaster' type for a first horse.....give yourself a break and enjoy horse ownership rather than finding it too stressful and ending up with a git of a horse.
