I'm just about to hurl my computer out of the window....

I use hotmail as my email, and when I try to attach photos to an email from my computer I get the message "internet explorer has blocked this site from using an activeX control in an unsafe manner.." and won't let me do it

So instead I have to attach them as a file, and send them one by one, as anything more causes meltdowns.

Firstly, I have no idea what the message means.
Secondly, how do I get around it as I am fond of boring people to death with pictures of my neddies..

(I am not at all computer literate so please keep answers to terms of one syllable or less:D)

Thanks!!

activeX control is a simple program that runs with your internet explorer usually involving a graphical user interface (for pictures..)

Sounds like explorer has blocked either hotmail or the place your getting your photos from, from using it.

SO, without activeX control, you cant upload your piccies.

How to fix it? Havent got a clue!

I *think* you need to enable ActiveX - its been a while since Ive come across this. In IE click Tools >> Internet options >> security >> Custom settings (button) then scroll down to activeX and set them to prompt or enable, I forget which so remember what you changed them from :D

the simplest fix is DON'T use internet explorer...
get firefox
download and install - then away you go :D I absolutely detest ie - it has far too many security issues.. and has its own rules for viewing pages instead of the normal way... rant over before it begins:o
