My Welsh boy can be very strong esp in transitions down from canter. Usually in a ns verbinden. My trainer had the brain wave of trying him in a bomber dc Morgan, that I had already.he is so much better in it, just seems happier and less resentful of you touching his mouth. Obviously it’s not dressage legal any more. Research has led me to the bomber blue loose ring snaffle. The mouth piece is identical, it’s not as swively as the Morgan. I’m hopeful I can pop that in to compete and he won’t notice ! Just wondering if anyone else that was using the dc to compete had found this a viable solution ?

Just reinstating this in case any advice .
he is so much better in the bomber dc, it’s made me realise that he was strong because he didn’t want me touching his mouth in the ns bit. Just so much more relaxed in this.
I have tried the loose ring snaffle and it’s ok but sometimes it seems to catch him and he has a little panic.
I think I need something really kind, was thinking of trialling a Fager Maria . Happy for any input though.
