Any experience of Addisons disease or insipidus diabetes
The vet has narrowed down my elderly girl's excessive drinking to 4 things - either renal failure, Polydipsia, Addison's or insipidus diabetes. She has had a full blood and urine analysis with both coming back normal. He says the fact they are normal points to these 4 things but he's hedging his bets on Atypical Addison's or ID.
There is no known test for ID so it would be a case of starting her on treatment and seeing if she responds. They can test for Addison's but this is another blood test. For the moment I have asked them to rule out renal failure with the specimen they already have and we'll take it from there.
Any experience would be helpful
