My five year old ish is a really good doer and 90% of the time a dopey donkey, i've always been one for feeding bog standard H&P cubes or mix and HIFi but i am finding even on a small amount of h&P cubes over a few days he gets more and more spookey and bucky, he doesn't go any more forward just gets silly and can't settle or concentrate, and my god can he buck when he tries. I have been looking in to the above as the have a trial on at the mo' and wondered what anyone thought, or if anyone has any other suggestions for a good low starch, no barley, slow release energy feed.

I've used it on a fatty that got a bit wild at times - its good stuff, had a neurotic TB at the same time that didn't like eating and put a bit of this in with his condition mix.

This off the efeed website - "Fast Fibre is also barley and molasses free and is ideal for the good doer or for horses who tend to be hyper even on low energy feeds"

I love it, my boy who has suffered ulcers as a result of peritonitis after 10 days of i/v injections has it mixed with Allen and Page Ride and relax, he has it sloppy like reddy brek.

The guy at Allen and Page recommended feeding the two together

it's fab, my good doers are on it and love it! They don't seem to know that it's fatty food! My girl is a bit silly on ride and relax (no idea why!), but is lovely and sane on fast fibre - they both look great on it too!

I have a similar five year old, he is a nightmare on molasses or cereal. I am very careful about what he eats, A&P fast fibre is fine for him, he turns into a nut case with even a mug full of pony nuts.

Feed it to my NF together with half rations of lo-cal and a couple of mugs full of Power & Performance when we need extra omph. He look amazing on it and is very sane :-)

As someone else said, it looks like sloppy porridge but the horses seem to love it!

Thank you for your replying everyone, i've checked and my local feed store supplies it so i'm going to get some tomorrow.

I've used A&P for the last 2 years and will never use anything else. Fabulous product and great value for money, turned my very skinny poorly cob into a bit of a fatty if I say so myself!!!
