Horse in question is an ex polo horse and as a result of blunt trauma to the cannon/fetlock area bone grew in an abnormal manner resulting in tendon injury. Vet gave it a really long winded name - unfortunately I cannot remember what it is called. It is unknown when the injury occured however it only began giving her trouble at the beginning of this year. No arthritis and joint is generally clean.
Vet has recommended pain relief, 24/7 turnout and regular light work on hard ground (xrays were done). Vet is unable to provide any idea on the rate of progression of symptons however has advised 2 years max.
I do speak with the vet regarding any changes but wondered if there is anything else that people have done that I could mention to the vet? Rate of progression that others have encountered etc?
I have been made fully aware that the damage cannot be rectified however anything that could help would be appreciated.
