Jo Wakefield, Springbank stables in Kent.
Has something I like the look of, but not one I’ve come across before, and now that you can’t search ‘posts’ on Facebook it makes it v hard to find reviews there.

Thank you!

Spring bank rings a bell with dodgy dealers. Is this the one that scammers are posting horses for sale under their name? I seem to recall the real yard being ok.

Thanks TFF.

Yes I think this may be why I associated the name with a question mark…a shame for them if so!

Also Broadhill stables has a nice black pony, but I think that is Lynn Robertson. Any recent experiences there please?

God keep away from Lynn! There was a post on here a few weeks ago with nothing but bad experiences I’m afraid, search the forum you’ll find them

Patterdale, what are you looking for? There is a ' dealer' local to me that has really lovely sorts. I think they are usually bought privately, then brought on and sold. They are not cheap but are very nice. She is in south lincs.

Thanks TFF.

Hi I have just seen this post. Not sure if it is to late but id be very wary of Lyn Robertson. I have been sent messages from numerous people recently who have had bad experience - negative posts on fb get deleted, [Content removed following complaint], very difficult getting money back etc.

About LR, multiple bad experiences on my yard but last post on a thread about her got deleted by her. [Content removed]
I'm another with a bad experience of Broadhill stables in breach of their trial period contract and retaining my money, and aware of a couple of others currently struggling to get their money back. Could share more when I know how it all turns out, but sharing now purely in the hope of saving others from what is a very stressful situation. Happy to discuss off forum with anyone who has been through this and has constructive advice. Hope this post isn't deleted, as there's a ton of evidence available if forum moderators need it, and by removing genuine warnings in the past they are not protecting forum members from significant financial loss. I'm sure there are many happy customers out there, but that doesn't mean that everyone has had a good experience. I'm warning specifically about the trial period contract, not commenting on the business as a whole

Has anyone initiated legal proceedings?
I've just joined this group having searched for this as I am also due a refund from Broadhill - was informed that the pony had just bolted on an older child rider so was probably actually not suitable for a novice younger child rider which was the purpose of the purchase, hence purchase fell through. It is a shame as initially I appreciated the honesty of informing me that the pony was not as suitable for us as thought, but now don't believe that the funds are coming back to us unless I go through small claims. I've set a deadline for next week by which time I will submit a small claims - wondering if anyone has gone through this too?

I've gone through a few small claims cases, nothing to do with this dealer. You need to send a letter before action before opening the case. Look on line for examples, you need to give a reasonable time eg 2 weeks from the time you send the letter to give chance to pay no matter how long you've waited up til now. You can send it electronically. If you're approaching a time when you're considering small claims then send the letter asap.

Thank you for the heads up. I've actually started to fill in the sections on the small claims online form ready to go as I'm not at all optimistic that I will recover the money without going down this route having read multiple people's experiences. I will draft and send the final demand letter on Monday evening instead as planned, then submit the online form as per deadline on the final demand letter.

I hope that it goes well for you, and remain convinced that this is the only way to change the habitual poor service from this business.

Also, how do they get away with 'advertising or promoting' horses on FB, I thought live animal sales were banned?
