Just found this from Marbach, so he's 3* at the mo, does show a run out but we can forgive him

Think I've found Rhi's hubby!

http://www.reitsport-fotojournalist.de/r...210067.jpg.html

I can't view the video link on the other thread, I read he jumped a 160cm banner so obviously has ample jump (http://www.eurodressage.com/news/breeding/oldenburg/2004/04stallic/althengst3.html) but it mentioned he wasn't that loose a mover, does it show this in the video?

And another piece on him:

"Three years later, when Grafenstolz’s first crop was highly praised in Baden Wurttemberg and the average score of the foals was even better than those of French Kiss – who was on his way that later led to the win of the World Championships of Young Dressage horses.
Ridden by triple European Young rider eventing champion Michael Jung, Grafenstolz, now Birkhof’s Grafenstolz TSF to be precise, qualified for the Bundeschampionate in all three disciplines, dressage, showjumping and eventing. He won the eventing with a historic 95%. The way he galloped through the course was just astonishing. A month later Grafenstolz also won the World Championship in Lion d’Angers. As a six-year-old, this eventer already performed very nice 3 and 2 tempis! So if dressage is getting even more important in eventing Grafenstolz doesn’t have to be scared.
As a 7-year-old he won a CCI*** and every now and then you hear the word “Beijing“ when insiders talk about Germany’s future eventing team and the combination Jung/ Grafenstolz."

Me too, thank you Sally and Volatis! I've tried contacting them but it says "Email erfolgreich verschickt" ....anyone fluent in German?

I also like HP Legend, he's a nice, light sporty build but more expensive than the G boy and I prefer Grafenstolz.

Oh thanks! Haha, I thought there was a problem with my email! lol

Thank you HN, his movement looks fine to me...good enough for what I want to breed anyway. The trot pic is very nice.

The filly was quite stocky as a foal wasn't she, looks very smart.

I'm pleased so many people are loving Grafenstolz. My vet has a yearling filly by him out of a hunter mare that has done very well at county level this year.
Horsenut, those two links you posted- the stallion show at Munster Handorf is fabulous. You can walk round the stable block and see all the stallions in their boxes so gives you a really good idea of what they are like close up. The atmosphere is fantastic, the Germans get really into it and it is always packed. The quality of horses is superb too.

The Bayern state stud has the most amazing lady rider who competes Imperio, Zauberfurst and In Flagranti. She had some of the stallions at the gala evening we went to a few weeks again and Imperio is getitng seriously impressive.

I did take photos but they were rubbish (my camera doesnt like being indoors)
We went for 4 days and went round a number of studs while we were there. Wasn't too expensive although we stayed in hannover as our base which was a bit of drive from Munster Handorf. The actual stallion show I cant actually remember how much tickets were but not too much. Its Hotel, car hire and flights that make it more expensive but well worth it.

We went over a few weeks ago to the stallion licensing and the flights came to about £80, car hire about the same and we found a really resonable guesthouse that cost about 120 euros.

that definately sounds worth a trip, though i will come home loved up with stallions and need more mares lol...

are there any particular well known studs i can look up online
eventing type of stallions prefered?

Well standing in England is Tycoon, really jumps and has jaw dropping movement. We've got 2 fillies by him
http://www.trakehners.co.uk

Gestuet Geling have Axis and his son Hirtentanz who both really jump, as well as the eventer Camaro. Sky Dancer is another interesting one of theirs who has a lot of TB blood and shows really good jumping ability so would be interesting as an eventing sire.
http://www.hengststation-geling.de/english/geling_stallions.html

Gestut Horstein has some really well known jumping stallions, Sky Dancer's sire Beg and the great Sixtus http://www.gestuet-hoerstein.de/englisch/main.htm

Then there is Hoerem, which stands one of Sixtus's best sons Buddenbrock. http://www.hoerem.de/index_02.htm
Buddenbrock produces fabulous elegant offspring with a real lightness of movement.

Kasparow is another Sixtus son who events to a decent level himself http://www.stall-eicke.de/en/stallions/index.php

And this stud http://www.gestuet-haemelschenburg.de/ always makes fascinating reading. Kostolany produces sons who can event!

Hey, got to promote those Trakehner boys, I really think they are so underestimated.

I took my friend Jan to Germany with me in February and she thought Trakehners were OK but was really more of a Dutch or Hanoverian person. Well after seeing top class stallion after top class stallion come out and strut their stuff she is a total fan now.

I've never not been a fan of them to look at, just have known lots of hot ones! IF I were to use one, I'd have to do LOTS of research into the temperament of the stallion and his fore bears as well as his offspring, as B carries Atlantus in her lines and he can throw hotheaded horses.
