Is difficult........some horses (like people!) have good days & bad days, but doesn't mean there's anything particularly wrong! But maybe an idea to have a vet check, and perhaps try an experienced chartered animal or veterinary physiotherapist, for them to asssess your horse.
I had a physio who put a magnetic rug on my horse plus gave some stretching exercises (with carrot), which all helped, plus was very consistent with my riding, so no schooling issues developed (oohhh and yes saddle checked and changed saddle a few times over a couple of years). Maybe worth trying a good riding instructor to see what they think too (if you've not already)?

thanks ever so much for the reply :) yea its really hard because hes been so good for so long thort we had got through al the bad :( i cant help but think the worst like arthritis etc??yea i have got a lady coming monday very wel recomended when his back is sore its were the back of the saddle sits at either side of the spine..and this has only happened snice getti him cilpped...but it goes down within 2days..but yea think i wil get saddle lady back out agagin to re-check saddle.i had a lesson booked for mon but cant go due to him been sore etc ~:( hes really good to school but noticed when i did a little the other day before he was sore again he didnt really want to canter on one rein etc unlike him ...the thing that worrys me the most is him walkin short in his back leg...theres no heat, swelling, etc or anything in the leg...just wish i could locate the pain n problem...i wil have him back to the vets just abit put of by them last time sayin nothing was wrong!!thanks agagin any other help really greatful :)

He needs a proper lameness work up at a specialist clinic hun. Then you will know what you're dealing with and can address it rather than guessing at each symptom as it appears.
