Any idea as to what this is? Cat related

A few weeks ago Arlo had a tiny red patch, looked like a little graze. He’s not one to be fiddled with unless on his terms and hind leg touching isn’t acceptable!
So I sprayed it now and then while I could grab him and the redness turned to skin. I thought normal healing.
Now I’m not quite so sure.
Again it’s so hard to get a proper look at but it’s not getting smaller or growing any hair back (maybe too soon though) but I *think it’s raised, a bit like a blister but it’s not air or liquid feeling.
I will attempt a better photo but he’s pretty cagey about it, that’s just how he gets, it’s not pain related I don’t think.

That looks like an abscess one of mine had from a bite. It grew and grew over a week or so until I picked him up to put him in a box to go to the vet when it split and sprayed the most enormous amount of pus everywhere and then healed up in no time.

Oh lovely! I’ll look forward to that… it does look like something waiting to pop and the small red part would tie in with a bite or small injury.

Yes I was going to suggest abscess. Our cat Stan has had loads over the years, but the first one he had we thought was just a little graze until it burst rather dramatically one evening.

ETA I've just found a rather gruesome photo of him with a burst abscess, if anyone wants to see!

Mine had an abscess on her tail from a bite that I didn't notice until it burst and left pus on my windowsill where she sat.

@HashRouge - that's very similar to Rowan's injury last year. Noticed a hamster cheek on the Sat am, and huge burst abscess the next day! We had to go in for antibiotics, and then ask again for painkillers, as cat was still in quite a bit of pain from it.

I took a series of photos of it getting worse then slowly better! Took about 3 weeks to go completely..

Fortunately Rowan was excused the Cone of Shame, as she can be a bit feral at times, and would take herself off under the decking!! Not to be combined with a Cone..... Once the pain was managed, she didn't interfere or scratch the wound...

My mum's old tabby cat ended up with 3 large vet bills from abscesses caused by rat bites. He was a very, very good hunter but sometimes wasn't quick enough with the kill.
