Well this evening we went up to ride my pony, and found this (Sorry for anyone thats squeamish, it's also very puffy!):
All I can say is that he is one lucky pony!
After vet came out and told us any lower and he wouldn't be around. Clipped the hair off around it, flushed it out and then when the vet had gone we walked around the field looking for anything that could have caused it, found nothing!
Does anyone have any idea what might have caused it? We thought maybe a kick but its about an inch and a half long and about an inch deep, very clean edges though.
Vet said to just keep flushing it and putting cream and vaseline around it to stop flies getting in. He also has a fly rug with a neck too now
