Hiya

Does anyone know about the dealer Charly Clothier? I got my horse from her in December and would like to find out more on her back ground but she seems to have vanished into thin air and her website won't let me in as windows has apparently detected that the site may harm my computer!! Anyone know anything about her, good or bad?

I Have purchased 2 horses from Charly and I am very pleased with them both. It is very surprising to hear that people have had bad experiences from purchasing horses from her. My horses are on livery at her stables and i talk to her quite a bit. she has spoke about a few cases where people haven't been happy with the horses they have purchased. This is usually down to the fact that people think they are far better riders than they really are . Unfortunatley Charly gives them the horse that they want but they usually find they can't handle the quallity of horse she has supplied.
I have been to many yards over a period of many years and have never come across someone so in touch with her animals as Charly.

It seems to me that if someone falls off a horse they turn round to the supplier and tell them the horse is a bad one rather than taking a good look at themselves and taking lessons to improve the way they ride.

In one case there was a girl who purchased a cob . she took the cob to another yard on livery and when she popped back into Charly's yard to say hello she was saying how nice her new yard was but the man who owned the yard was to lazy to feed the cob correctly. He kept giving it hard feed (competition feed) all the time. Charly advised the girl this was not good for the cob. About 3 weeks later the girl fell off and was threatening Charly with court action saying she had sold her a bad horse.

This does make me wonder if some peoples brains are under there saddles.

Sometimes its quite commical hearing the stories

Charly's alright, a real christian. She will offer a good trial on her horses and most are green but nice types.

i bought a pony from charly was just as described - would deal with her again i know lots of horses from her most green but all really peaceful nice sorts ! :D

Well I have seen some really nice types come out of her yard - there is a very nice baby cob at our yard atm who came from her and he is going to be pretty good. Her horses have always seemed to be what was described - warts and all.

We've had quite a few really nice types from charly - one being the most incredible cob ever, beautiful moving jumped like a stag, not your ordinary bog standard thing you usually get drom dealers! Got a couple at the moment, both very kind natures no problems with them at all!

She has a website which is up to date :)

hmmm I think its the same person writing these nice comments about charly. As anyone with experience with her would not be writing positive comments!

Welcome to the forum you new people.

What a very peculiar post - slightly too gushing in praise and justifications maybe?

Hi
I started the thread as i wanted to find Charly as i got my horse through her yard in surrey, but she actually previously belonged to a relation of her boyfriend, and i wanted to find out more on her back ground and see if i could see any pictures of the foals they bread out of her, just out of curiosity i have no issue with the horse!! Anyway i managed to track her previous owner down in the summer so it's fine, thanks for the info anyway!

Funny that most the posters above (including myself) have plenty of posts so obvious not new or same people!

Lexie glad you managed to trace them :D
