any idea what these are? *Pics*

Anyone have any ideas what they sore/growths are?
First one appeared in august last year but this was isolated one the right hind leg and thought it was a scarcoid although never seen one before, it was banned and it fell off. The growth on that leg then grew back and around March the horse was taken back to the vets and the growth was removed by burning it off.
The said horse had very long feathers and despite being washed and checked regularly the growths must of continued to grow as today when feather were clipped off the growth/sore are now on all four legs. Horse is not lame but the growths are obviously sore and he's not keen on them being touched although they have been washed with hibiscrub for now.

They look very sore. Poor boy - I hope the Vet comes back to you with some ideas on how to help him.

Use neem oil to treat it, either way it wont cause any damage but it does treat cracked heels, fungal type spots etc.

What odd things. Does the horse live in a field with any other livestock?

My horse gets similar to this although not as large and painful looking . He suffers from dermatitis and mud fever . Best stuff is pig oil and sulphur it's brilliant 1 application and his skin is healing brilliantly

Has the vet mentioned Chronic Progressive Lymphedema ? He looks as though he has had past mite infection resulting with skin folds.
Using hibiscrub may be too harsh on his skin though, saline water is fine and see what the vet advises, for treating the infection and healing the skin.

Be careful with Pig Oil mixed with sulphur. Some horses react to it.

My pony gets them on his heels every summer, ive tried every cream going, last year I tried front line pipettes for dogs just to see if it could be grass mites { he never itches his heels} and it went, ive done it again this summer as it was coming back.

I think it might be verrucal dermatitis?? Happens like mud fever but won't go away with mud fever treatment, though I have cured one case with dermobion/dermapred which older members will remember and can still be got in Australia. Your vet could import it if you are desperate.
