Just noticed these on my mare. They're hard to see as they're right on the bottom of the lip, where it folds over. There is another on the other side of her mouth (similar place) but it is a lot smaller.
She lives out and has recently changed fields to one with much richer grass. It also has clover in it (heard that might be the cause.) it doesn't seem to bother her at all, and she'll let me touch it but just wondered what you thought?!
