Any idears to shed security with no electric!!

My shed has been broken into again last night
The last time was back in december
And even tho nothing has been taken my thoughts is that they are looking for somethink
In mind I do have a little electric fence running around shed to stop horses pushing at shed
But from last time they broke in they would of knew i don't store it in there
Anyway is there any security I can get without having to use electric as I have no mains supply !!
 
One piece of advice a police office once gave me was if you put decent padlocks on the thieves think there is something worth stealing whereas if you keep nothing in the shed worth stealing and put a silly lock on it they wont bother again......

Doesnt really help when you are trying to stop the barstewards from stealing your stuff though....:(
 
Won't stop them but might put them off when you open it... you can get little battery powered 'alarms'. They come in 2 halves and you stick one on the door and one on the door frame. When they are lined up it is silent, when you open the door and they are seperated an alarm goes off until you switch it off (which is via a small switch on the alarm. Yes the theives could switch it off themselves but it might make them jump enough to stop them/scare them off before they realise this).
 
Yes shed is padlock and on both times have been but still doesn't stop them
I don't know if there is a light worth a look
 
If there is nothing worth stealing it may be best to leave it unlocked, they'll do more damage trying to get in

Failing that you can buy battery powered shed alarms, some are very good - we actually had one as a house alarm as it was so reliable and loud, even if there is no one nearby to hear it the shock of the noise may scare them away

Avoid the motion sensor ones if the horses look in through windows lol

Or you can get alarmed padlocks which let off a loud siren noise if someone tries to tamper with them

If they are a bit more hardcore then you can get legal trip wires that when triggered set off a shotgun blank cartridge, you can step over the wire in the day but at night they wont be able to see it, I'm not sure how you'd rig this up, a lot depends on which way the door opens and whether the horses have access to the area around the shed (which would obviously make them a no no unless used inside the shed) also the noise may scare the horses, I hesitate to suggest them but they do have good reviews for stopping repeat visitors

With the padlocks the seem to get a crow bar or something not from padlock end but where the end is that screw onto shed so really don't go anywhere near padlock if that makes sense on second padlock I brought a harder one but they still managed
 
Lou23 because I live in the country side and rent my land of the local parish council
I'm restricted to what type I can have it took me 2 and 1/2 years to get a wooden one
So really that's out the question for a metal one !

Yes and no they are not worth trying, the gits will just pull their hoods up - that's if they aren't au fait with all the types of dummy cctv on the market.

The best way to prevent damage is to leave it unlocked and don't keep anything worth nicking in it.

The metal motorbike sheds are not at all secure nowadays. Anyone can go and buy a battery-powered disc cutter:( The same tool will easily take off all padlocks, chains etc.
