First off, yes the vet had been and put him on danilon twice a day for a week, if no improvement then x-rays. He's on solo turnout.
Horse was on 3 legs about 8 weeks ago due to an abcess. Due to a family emergency I had to rush away and didn't see him come good. He was then in transit for the best part of 24 hours without leg protectors (someone decided he was "walking funny" with them on).
Horse arrives back to me happy but with some swelling to the hock on the opposite leg to the abcess.
I do not know whether he cracked it compensating when he had the abcess or it happened during transport.
having had ~3 weeks box rest and time off due to injury/cellulitis on other leg (all good) he was unfit and had clearly lost some topline. However I did about 20 mins walk/trot in the school a week after then a few days later a hack at a very sedate pace until he took it into his own hands to canter home sideways. To this point he felt good and looked sound.
A week later I took him in the school and he "felt" uneven and was very grumpy. Clicking in either the hock/stifle or both on every stride.
Now on danilon, moving freely, tracking up in walk and trot and clicking reduced to once a handful of strides. Vet not quite sure where click is coming from despite running up and down alongside horse.
Hock still "squidgy".
Any ideas so I can fuel dr google madness?
Part of me thinks it's a mix of crack, over-exertion and lack of fitness.
If appreciate if anyone had any ideas. Sorry this post is so long!
