Had the vet to my boy week past Sat as he came in from the field Friday night bit sore on left fore and I could feel weak pulse!

He diagnosed mild brusing to the sole (it was very hard frost for few days leading up to lameness- box rest few days and 2 Danalon then reduce to 1 for a few days.

Done that and he seemed much better - so turned him out in small paddock (frost now gone by this time) with my old boy and he seemed fine for till Sat night came in sore again - so have had him in since then and if anything now seems worse than before - Vet coming first thing in the morning (couldn;t get app for today) but now really worried something serious if he getting worse so just wondered if anyone had any ideas - Didn;t slepp last night and guess tonight will be the same

If Its mild i wouldnt worry.. But i have to day. if it is laminitis it was a litle bit daft to turn him out.

Dont worry. Dont up the danilon dose and the vet needs to see the lameness. Box rest him with only hay and water.

Thanks Nailed - don't think it is lami as he did have very mild attack last year and this looks completey diff - (and he always goes out in a muzzle even in his paddock)

I have been soaking his hay for 12 hours and only gets half scoop hifi lite for his carrots apples and vitamins - Just in case

mine bruised her sole, and was slightly lame for about a week, still reacted to hoof pincers after a week, so don't worry too much, could still be bruising.

My horse had heat in the bulb for a day and looked terribly lame I had farrier out today and he said no bruising it was the frost and hard ground.I have the vet tomorrow for other problems and like you will check it out.The frost has played havock with some of them.

Is there any swelling/heat? My guess would be an abscess too, the lameness these create tends to come and go a bit at first. Sometimes they get worse upon box resting and build up pressure ready to burst out,, Bloody things *rolls eyes, have had a lot this year*.

Hope you are getting somewhere with it now

I wouldn't be so dismissive of it being lammie if I were you, we have a pony on the yard that was stiff for a few days last week (older pony so not unusual) owner keep turning out to help with stiffness, no heat in feet or any pulse - vet came out monday and x rayed yesterday both pedal bones in front feet have dropped, prognosis not good for the poor little one.
Hope vet gets to the bottom of it for you.

All

Thanks so much for help/suggestions - had vet yesterday and as there was no obvious signs of anything Lami/Abcess etc decided to take x-rays - so had another sleepless tearful night thinking the worse and thankfully Vet called this morning and is just the bruising not settled down and he has very thin soles!! Poor little thing - he looks ike his leg is broken so must be in agony (as he's not normally a whimp!)

So bit more box rest with a pad on then Shoe with a plate and gel

Can;t tell you how happy / relieved I am ; - }
