any ideas on how much to fix my saddle tree?

Hi, I have a gorgeous keiffer saddle, but my tree is broken just near the knee roll. As its a good saddle, I would like to know estimate how much it would cost to repair it? Love to all :)
 
When you say near the knee roll do you mean the points of the tree. If so it may well be a fairly straight forward job. I had broken points on my gfs and I can't remember how much but it wasn't an expensive fix I'm sure it was £40 or thereabouts. Def worth it to have a saddler have a look.
 
We'll, the tree has snapped, just where it tucks in, so its about 2 inches max, it doesn't interfere with it, just for aesthetics really...£40 ish, yeah, I'd pay that...cheers chiklet.
 
Hey, I think you're right...do you know where the metal rivets (dont know what they are really called) but it's just come apart and looks like the cleanest of snaps just under rivets. Where you based oz? I'm in Derbyshire? Tell me you're nearby? Please.x

lol, no sorry in Caterham on the Hill in Surrey.
It's a VERY easy job, unlace front of saddle, remove old copper rivet,inspect tree for soundness, insert new rivet, re lace in panel, simples!

This is a flexible point, 2 pieces of leather sandwiched over the end of the pouint and kept in place by a copper river

Lol, oh yeah oz, really simples! I'll get my hemming tape and staple gun and a tube of no nails! Cackle, you are exactly right though, your diagnosis is correct! Oh I wish you were here! My tree is plastic though, would that make a difference...you are really kind for even helping me, let alone posting a picture! Hugs to the doctor of saddelry!xxxxxx

Flattery gets you everywhere and no, plastic is just as easy to fix. The poster on this thread who paid £40 for this repair paid too much, it would take a good Saddler around 40 mins to fix, hope you get it sorted, Oz :)
