Went to see the Bailey this evening and noticed that he had a slight cough; he coughed three times and then it seemed to settle. I was a bit worried and wondered if anyone knows of anything I may be able to give him either in feed or not to help clear it up. I am a bit stumped because as he is only 8 and a half months and can't have most things (it seems they have to be over a year generally).

Any help would be much appreciated!

cough medicine? Is there any baby cough medicine you can give? i know my friend gives her horse ... i think its benelyn.

ETS you should probably check with your vet first though!

i have a herbalist who comes out to mine known her for years she always cures things , if i were you id go down that route
good luck
someone at my yard use to give tixylix kids cough medicine to her colt and it did work but id be carefull ask the receptionist at the vets

My vet recommended Benelyn for my horse - apparently also good for dogs with kennel cough. Original, chesty but not the non drowsy. Look at you a bit gone out in Tesco when you buy 2 enormous bottles (& more so if you tell them it is for a horse). It really works.

Is he in or out??

Lots of fresh air, head down, and hay from the floor.

If in doubt though you should speak to your vet.
