Where I can buy some cheap poles for jumping?

It's just that I, umm, fell off today over a 3' oxer, landed on the back rail and it promptly snapped in half and I'll need to replace it. I've got nicely bruised ribs to show for it though!

A wood yard sounds a good idea... do they come smoothed off or do you have to file them down yourself?

!

Well the thing is, our local wood yard owner is the hubby of our local BHSI instructor; so he knows exactly what your after when you say a 9ft SJ pole. So yes ours are filed down, but Im not entirely sure if other yards would be so good!

Right I do want your pony anymore

Seriously though, I'm not cross with him at all! It wasn't his fault at all, just one of those things. I asked him to jump out of a really slow canter (too slow TBH which is my own stupid fault amd I was trying to give him more rein as it has been pointed out to me that I do keep a contact on his mouth when I jump. He seems happier though when he has got some feel on his mouth - even dropping the contact even on the flat upsets him in exciting situations so chucking the reins at him didn't help matters!

) Anyway, he hesitated a stride out, put a short one in but then had a go anyway. A bit mean making him jump that from virtually a standstill TBH!

I'm not entirely sure but I think he just didn't quite make the back rail and put down on me halfway over, then changed his mind and tucked up again. I wasn't expecting it at all and just slid off the side onto the pole. Whooops...
