Little bogof yearling gets snotty (very much so) if she spends too much time in our end field. Fine in all the others, ok (but not completely clear) if she is stabled for part of the time. Brought her in this morning as she was wet, miserable and very snotty. 5 hours later checked on her and she was clear nosed, bright and happy. I am guessing it is an allergy of some kind, but have no idea what it could be to! Other ponies all fine in there, and this has been going on off and on since June (every time I let her in there ?) - so can’t be pollen, or berries…. She likes to sleep a lot so I am guessing she sleeps flat out with her nose in whatever it is - which is why if she can come in to sleep, her nose stays clear.
All the other fields are full of oak trees so it would really help right now if I could figure out what it was and fence it off until acorn season is over!
Can the vet do allergy testing? Anyone had anything similar?
