Ok my little border is quite ill. We have been to the vets and had blood tests taken (results on monday). If nothing is found she will have a brain scan.
Vet is completely slueless to what it might be wondered if any of you had experienced anything like it...
It started Wednesday after mum had walked both dogs they went to my grannies where they go everyday while mum works and keep her old spanial company. She rung mum up later saying Biscuit had gone mad running round the garden in circles, panting and shaking. Mum took her to the vets she was acting amost drunk and had a temperature. Now we fo have a rat in our garage we think so may she have got somthing off that? She hasn't eaten rat poison?
Thursday she spent the day at the vets as she did on friday sha almost looses all her co-ordination . She has not vomitted at all? It is now sunday and there seems to be improvement. She was jabbed on friday and has been on drugs all weekend. At night she is fine sleeps all night comfortably. However the vet told us to take her on short walks- yesterday I walked her and she came back fine then started her pacing around, hot nose, panting and shaking after about half an hour she settled and was fine. As she goes up the stairsshe still goes very slowly. It is like she is disoriantated. I took her for another short walk today and she set out fine when i got back i got the same reaction as yesterday pacing round nose got hotter panting and shaking she has now stopped panting. As she walks round he tummy gets very very tense it is hard to touch and every now and again she stops and looks crampy (seems almost like a horse tying up) then she carries on walking round in large circle. She almost runs away from me and doesn't want to eat anything and is very anxious. It is very weird if it was something toxic the vet thinks she would have been sick or fitted and it would have passed through her. She seems to have got slightly better. Before our short walk today as I picked up the leads she grabbed her pheasant teddy and seemed to be very happy but after a short walk she seems to have this reaction. (weds, thurs and friday she was like this most of the time)
She is a 7 year old border.
sorry for long post but very worried.
