Any ideas where i can buy Riding clothes to fit me??

Sorry, I totally agree with everyone supporting the OP and I think some of the comments are vile and uncalled for - but that did make me snort ;)

(and I'm a fatty so I think I'm allowed...)

I'm always amazed that anyone who has anything to do with horses can be remotely overweight. When I was a full time owner I actually struggled to keep weight on.

The armour argument is of course neither here nor there.

I think Justabob and Hippona should be on the stage, I have tears running down my face. Mean I know, but funny.

As a matter of fact we have a girl at our yard and I wouldn't like to guess how much she weighs (probably quite a lot) and she rides her horse, hacks, jumps etc and the horse is fine, happy, beautifully looked after and plenty big enough for her.

However, I'm not sure how safe I would feel on a horse being that size, looks a bit bouncy sometimes!

Please excuse a simple question, I don't want to cause any offence, but all of the other posters have assumed that you are female and are looking for larger women's wear, and I wondered is this the case?

If not then I believe that http://www.fasttackdirect.co.uk/ has men's riding wear in larger sizes.
As an alternative to long riding boots have you considered short boots and half chaps? I am a male rider and that is what I ride in?

Good luck with your search

Do you mean 'black eye' bouncy?!

lol its tough but I am managing it :p

I hasten to add that I wouldn't dream of trying to ride at my weight, I have said it before and say it again that the horse aspect aside the possible affects of falling off could be terrible - one of our own overweight members who insisted that she was absolutely fine to ride had a simple fall but suffered very badly if I remember correctly, even a fall from walking along a road on foot can be very nasty for a very overweight person - we all like to think we are no different to everyone else but the fact is that no matter how good your heart or blood pressure the physical aspects of being very large have to be taken in to account and if that means no riding until weight is lost then so be it

This is a troll thread. Look at profile joined the 6/10 and posted that the 6/10. Just wants all this attention. Some children really do get bored and have nothing to do.

its only seems to be the fatties that think a 48inch sized waist rider is acceptable funnily enough. Wonder why that is?

FAOD, i dont care whether the OP is a woman or a man. Im a uni-sexist, fatist when it comes to morbidly obese peeps on horseback.
