Any Info on HAY STEAMERS?

Are these any good for large haynets.... do they actually work for horses with COPD? Any info good or bad appreciated before i invest... they arent cheap i know that much! Horse was diagnosed with Mild COPD yesterday.... And i certainly cant be doing with big wet soggy heavy haynets in the winter at 5am before work!

Get yourself a plastic dustbin, drill a hole near the bottom & connect up the hose from a wallpaper steamer/stripper. Stuff your hay in & turn on the steamer. This will be far cheaper & just as effective as any purpose made device & be a fraction of the cost.

We just use a large dustbin and throw 2/3 kettles on a net and put lid back on!

We (well, Troggy!) uses a plastic feed bag. Fill with hay, pour boiling water in and close top over.

i did as Toby_Zaphod says. plastic bin lasted a month or two then split, now i use a metal dustbin and black and decker steamer attached to hole in dustbin with hose connector. works brilliantly.

That is a genious idea! Will invest in a steamer asap and galvanised tank... and maybe a handy man to help !!
