Following on from the 'how colourful' post, I thought I would see who has any interesting breeds of horse/pony on their yard. I think we have quite a few more 'unusual' breeds on our yard at the moment - obviously some are rarer than others

We have

1 Fiord pony
3 Hafflingers
1 Ersky
1 Arabian Colt/Stallion
1 Exmoor pony
1 Arab
1 Quarter horse
1 apoloosa

Plus lots of TBs, TBxs, Welsh Crosses, misc ponies etc etc

We have a lusitano stallion and an andalucian gelding. I think thats about it on the odd stakes, the rest are fairly bog standard!!

we have 4 suffolk punches, and one foal. They are massive and extremely strong, they pull wagons around our village.

We have 1 fjord pony, 1 icelandic, 1 haflinger, and a load of mini shetties. They are mainly all native pony or cob types. There was a lovely dun-type colour pasa fino (sp?) where I work which I always thought was rather stunning.

Phew, someone else that not only has a fjord pony... but knows how to spell it LOL.

What is your fjord like? Ours only arrived about 2 days ago, he is very sweet but very very strong in his neck - is that a breed trait?

ahhhhh, I love the big horses. There is nothing cuter than a heavy horse foal.

We have a pure bred shire horse as well (don't know how I forgot about her as she is absolutely HUGE

but at the riding school there are....

2 fjords
lots of selle francais
french trotters
barbes (is that right in English>!)
some BIG cart horses...Normandy Cob perhaps?! 900kg white thing!! abslutly gorgeous!!
lots of shetland ponies with fantastic colours!!!
other ponies!!!
.......can't think of anything else

At college theres a new Fjord (sure it's one of those) in one of the fields, one of the liveries has a gorgeous andy gelding and one girl has a friesian stallion. Thats about it really.

We have the most basic horses on our yard. Foresters, Welsh cobs, shetlands. I think theres just two horses that are x bred things, tb x forest or something.

2 Donkeys!!

I own an Arab which isn't unusual - everything else is WB, TB, Cob or a mix

At a yard I used to be at the owner used to get me and my friend to ride her driving Mules - they were incredibly naughty!
