im trying to find out some history on my horses breeding (want to try and register him as IDSH) and was wondering if anyone knew where i could get info on the ID stallion sportsman ??

as far as im aware he is, hes not a young stallion tho, from a few years ago, he's the full brother to my horses grandmother, kerrymaid ?
 
i am trying to load some piccies of him but they dont seem to be working... he's 17h bright bay with one white fetlock and a tiny blob of white between his eyes, i rang the ID society this morning to see if he was eligable and they said hes only got 12.5% and needs 25% but his father is out of kerrymaid and she is the full sister to sportsman, i seen him quite a few years ago (at pony camp lol) and he was kept up at the twemlows stud in oswestry ? i just think he would do so well in the sports horse classes !! its such a sham i cant get any info ......

Your only problem could be the fact that he doesn't appear to be R.I.D. and I'm not sure if that will come into play

thanks everyone, i just hope i have enough background to register him, has anyone heard of twemlows ivor scharzkopf ? that is my horses sire ? hes from an unknown mare.

But cant help with anything further - my mare came to me with no papers just the name of her Sire - did trace him and wrote to the breeder - but never heard back so her passport although states her sire it is also stated that it is unproven - poor maloo!!
 
If you write to Richard Matson at Twemlows Hall, Higher Heath, Whitchurch, Shropshire SY13 2HB, he should be able to help you as he bred Sportsman and stood him at stud (used to hunt him too if I remember rightly!)

Sportsman was a lovely chestnut standing in the middle of England somewhere! If I was at home I could have looked at my dad's old ISH yearbook as he had ads i them about 10 years ago.
