honest opinion on my yearling? I’m not very clued up when it comes to showing...ideally bought to break at 4 and do a bit of competing but sadly she’s not going to make the height...I’m 5’1 and 8 stone so I know I’m light enough to ride her but I would like other people’s honest opinion on her because to me she has been foot perfect since day one and has an incredible desire to learn (which makes me fall in love with her more and more each day)....however realistically she’s not going to make the height I was looking for...

(If it came to the point where I’d have to sell her, the perfect home and her wellbeing will be priority!!)

What height were you wanting her to make and why do you not think she will make it?
What were you wanting to compete in?

For showing, youngstock is so hard to judge from photos as they grow in fits and starts and generally unevenly, they can look like a mule one day and then an absolute beauty the next.

From the photos I’d say she would do ok in the show ring, her shoulder is a bit upright and her wither a bit flat but that could be her growth stage.

Anything over 14hh would be nice! She’s very small at the moment and the vets not very confident she will even make that...ideally I want to do a bit of everything...I wasn’t actually looking for another then my partner surprised me with her and she is a bold wee thing

I agree she’s always changing!

To get an objective opinion, it would be best if you got better photos.
Taken side on with her stood on level ground and feet placed square, hopefully taken against plain backdrop (barn, hedge etc), take one each side.
One from the front and one from rear.
Its impossible to give an honest answer from a pony moving in a rug, tied at an angle and a bent round head shot, sorry.

Worth taking monthly photos of her stood up in same place, so you can compare as she grows.

Provided she has good conformation (which is inpossible to tell from your pics) then there is no reason not to take her out to a few youngstock shows/classes to let her see the world. Coloured/CHAPS classes in the plaited section is where she is best suited.

For showing there is no upper age limit on riders of ponies btw so you would never be too old to ride her in the ring in a few years time. And a lot of adults do the plaited pony CHAPS classes so you would be against all kids.
