I know this sounds random ..... Is Adult pornography on t'intenet illegal?

I know this sounds a bit bonkers but I'm trying to suss out someones very odd sounding story (given 120hrs Com service and has to sign SO register for 2yrs for accessing adult porn sites :confused:)

No. Not illegal at all.
I imagine its illegal to publish pornography without the people who are in it's permission. But someone accessing it wouldn't know that? So I can't really imagine a circumstance it'd be illegal.. :confused:

Obviously the viewer would know if the porn contained the first two. But surely the viewer can't be prosecuted for watching porn with non-consenting adults in it? How would the viewer be to know? :confused:
I wouldn't buy the story you've been told if I was you OP..
 
Thankyou both :) I imagine there is more to this story than I am being told, apparantly some of the 'actresses' appeared to be aged between under 18 (but over 16) which I imagine takes it into a different realm :(

Sorry I have been so vague .... can't really go into the in and outs but appreciate the clarification (which sadly is what I suspected :()

At 16 most women can pass for 18, so the viewer wouldn't be to know unless they SET OUT to view that age group?
I can't imagine you'd be prosecuted for stumbling on something when you weren't to know and they look sufficiently close to being 18 or over. I think he either set out to view that or he's viewed even younger :confused:
 
Only person I've come across who got this type of sentence was accessing child porn and had images on his computer. It was Someone I used to work with and he was married to an older woman with kids. Mr absolutely straight ( but a sneak) at work. We were flabbergasted when it all came out.
