Hi, my mare is due to foal early June. Occasionally names run through my head, but nothing inspirational. I would love to hear any colt and filly suggestions. Just to put you in the picture, my mare is a flaxen chestnut 16,1hh mare called The Blonde Business by the famous It's The Business, and the stallion is Rotherwood Peter Pan.
I would like a clever link in the name to one or both of the parents, but all suggestions welcome for both show and stable names. My 5 year old daughter is determind to call it Tinkerbell.......

I'm with tinkerbell if she's a filly toooo. I like Romeo or Alfie for a colt and star for a filly :) that's what is call him/her if it was my foaly xx

Mind Your Own
(As in mind your own business).

Hook, Line & Sinker
(As in Captain Hook).

Can't really suggest stable names without seeing a face! Although I'd be inclined to go with Tiger Lily rather than Tinkerbell...:)

Don't count your chickens until it's on the ground and then wait for the first month too until you can register it.
By all means think of names (who doesn't?) but don't call up all the bad luck under the sun on yourself for assuming the best.

I agree that I wouldn't be able to give it a stable name until he/she is born and well. Partly because I wouldn't want to jinx it and partly because it may not look like the name I'd chosen! But I'd think up a list too and then see if he/she suits any of them. As for the registered name I'd want something to do with Peter Pan. I think it has to be tinkerbell for a filly...or maybe Wendy. For a boy maybe George darling, Barry after the author),
Registered name, how about: the lost boy, the boy who wouldnt grow up or Neverland your business?

Oh, and most people have a shortlist/chosen name ready for a human baby so can't see any harm in planning ahead for a foal and having a bit of fun with it x

Tinkerblonde or Peter Business :D

I had a stable name sorted for my filly from about 6mths. But being superstitious I told no one till she was born :) When she popped out & was discovered be a filly I said 'hello xxxx' much to my friends surprise :D

Redigstered name took a bit longer to decide

Having bred 3 foals I'd personally wait until it's on the ground before naming it. Surprising how their individual character and looks can influence which name suits.
