Did you buy from Germany? Is that the only place?
Have any of your horses (yours and your friends) managed to get them off? I take it the halter is part of it not like the flexible fillies where you fix the muzzle to the head collar? Sorry for all the questions!
They are so light and non restrictive neither mine or my friends horses tried to get them off. Yes I ordered from Germany a while ago and thanks to sodding Brexshit you now have to pay import duty I believe. The basket and the headcollar are all one piece. There are two versions, one stitched together and a saddler can repair, or the version with metal studs at the joints, they send a pack of spares in case. I’ve only ever had to replace two.

Any idea how much import duty may be?

A group of us clubbed together to buy a load of specialist webbing hay nets from the USA a few years ago, to save on shipping costs etc. It worked a treat. That might be an idea, see if anyone else local to you want to share an order and go for the expensive German one

I’ve just bought an Easygrazer as one of my foresters has taken to putting his head down to the floor, putting his hoof through a gap at the side of the flexible filly muzzle, and ripping it off. Result for him! One ruined muzzle, and one bare patch on his poll but free of muzzle. The Easygrazer hasn’t arrived yet, it’s en route. Will report back on customs duties as and when.

I’m going through muzzles like there’s no tomorrow 🙄.

Mine has ‘friends’ in the field who pull them off him even with a fly mask on over, they pull from the poll so the whole lot comes off and it’s on as tight as it can be. I’ve given up wasting money and he’s now on restricted turnout and in more work which is helping.

It is a nightmare. Maybe I should get a thoroughbred instead. My flexible filly buster is on a bare paddock now(though I can’t believe how much it’s sprung up after weekend’s rain) but he is on his own. He is now chewing his way through the post and rail at a steady rate to perform equine join up.

I can’t physically ride him 7 days a week, can manage 5 days, so I’m paying someone to ride him twice a week which would probably work out cheaper than replacing muzzles. I’ve just bought the flexible filly but scared to put it on as it will be lost in 10 acres before long, along with the rest of them 🙄

It may stay on better, they are much more acceptable and one of mine tolerates his really well. Make sure you can tighten the throatlash of the headcollar and really tighten it up, then they can’t scrape it off nearly so easily. I actually attach my headcollar throatlash to the headcollar buckle not the ring it’s supposed to clip to. This makes it much tighter. I do have a breakable piece of leather in there somewhere I should add. Also mine came with a pound coin sized hole, to eat through, which I enlarged to about 50p piece size, to make it more tolerable.
You could put a tracker on it, from a dog collar? Remarkable the number of things we have to think of and purchase, isn’t it?

I’ve had my eye on these. Do we know anyone who’s actually tried one? Preferable who can compare with the Ff muzzle
I have had a breakage so am back in the market 🤦‍♀️

Following with interest as been told to use one. I like the look of the show master one but full size out of stock

Some questions please from experience-

How long did it take your horse or pony to suss out to eat a bit? Mine has been digging/licking a mud hole. He has diastema so not the best front teeth so that may make it more difficult for him.

He’s currently in one of the bucket ones for a short while but think I’m going to upgrade so after collective wisdom. Thanks

How long is your grass? I found that the thicker rubber of a bucket type makes it harder and more frustrating for them. My two settled straight away with the Flexible Fillies ones. One still nose drags occasionally but only for a few seconds before grazing. Neither ever settled and grazed normally in a bucket.
They have been wearing them now for about 3 summers so are very used to them but I don't think it took long for them to get the hang of things.

Ah thank you. The grass is reasonably short where he is at present. I am going to look at the FF ones for him.

Ah yeah so I'd just wonder if with the thickness of the rubber disk at the bottom, coupled with bad teeth if it may actually just be too difficult to get short grass. Maybe hold it onto the grass yourself and see how much sticks though the hole and it looks enough for him to be able to manage.

also have a look at the one YCBM has posted about. I know nothing about them but am considering as they are cheaper!

I'm finding the Ultimate muzzle the best at the moment. I think the only thing that makes it different from others is that it has a leather headpiece that's quite thin (as in a wide strap but thin leather) which doesn't protrude so makes it hard to rub on anything.

I have also made my own muzzle using the flexible filly pattern and one of those plastic flexible chopping mats. It was really a trial to see whether she was happier in the FF design but works quite well as a muzzle, however it's the headcollar she gets off so Im going to try with an old bridle.

INTRO PRICE REDUCTION

See Checkout.

As low as I can go, no overheads, no profit, agghh! Celie. : -

I doubt she's not making any profit with them starting at £68.

Be interesting to hear any feedback some someone whose used it?

My Easygrazer has just arrived. No import tax, so just the enormous purchase price and shipping cost. It is light and looks comfortable, however it is a very large hole in the middle! It is 2” in diameter. This may account for it being found more acceptable by some peoples horses. I will give it a go on my slimmer Forester.

Mine is missing a front tooth, one of the middle pair so I thought a muzzle would be challenging. He was very unhappy in the Shires Comfort muzzle, even with the hole made bigger, but has zero hesitation about the Flexible Filly one and has been happy in it for 2 summers now. I haven't made the hole bigger on the FF one.

I couldn't get near him in his stable to put the bucket muzzle on, he was upset enough to swing his bum on me, which is totally out of character, but the FF can be put on while he's standing untied in the barn gangway.

Thank you. That’s really helpful. As temp measure made hole in his current one bigger and he’s eating but will organise the FF one

Does anyone know what a “petal “ muzzle could refer to? Had it recommended but don’t know what the brand name is and a google search didn’t help
