Trying to swap my entry from Myerscough to there as Grace has just had her shoe put back on and still lame on it from the abscess, so Beaver Hall would give us one more week...

Is it a nice venue?

Exactly the same

is it a long way for you to travel??

It is about 2 hours I think, maybe a little more.

I have been up there a few years ago when I took a friend's horse to use the spa facilities but it was in the winter and both times it was dark (dropping him off and picking him up). We are in Lancashire, so it is straight up the M6 for us.

Are you near there?

We are about 45 mins away but south of it - shame or you could have called in and seen Fin!! he escaped the other day and got wedged between two lorries with merri up his bum, mum had to beat merri backwards to get him out and then Fin reversed himself perfectly all on his own - mum decided he is very intelligent. he had set of tack on and walked about in it no problem and i even had a shot at long reining him and he was golden!!
what date are you there if i'm free i might pop up and cheer you on!!!

Beaver Hall isn't straight up the M6... well it wasn't last time I went

You have to go round Manchester on the M60, then follow the A roads through Stalybridge. It was a bit of a mare to get there... took us nearly 1 hour and half in the car, plus you can get stuck in the traffic in Leek (pretty town though!). It's a nice venue but very busy and quite distracting I thought for the horses. They usually have two tests going on next to each other at once and cars/trailers/horseboxes going past the arenas to get to the car park. There was also someone playing the drums extremely loudly last time we went - but they were very good

Its a nice venue and the surfaces are very good. Be prepared for alll weathers though as it can switch from sunshine to hail in an instant (I got caught out there recently). It is also a little windswept (collected canter in to wind and extended with the wind will get good marks).

Where on earth did you go???

When I took my friend's horse in my trailer we whizzed up the M6 and then just got off the motorway and it was a completely straight road

Sorry, it was a QR

I went along M6, came off at a junction then went along a dual carriageway until I came to a town. Went through the town, through some windy roads and then we were there. SatNav took me there, just put Bradnop in it and off we went

We went last year and I've never seen so many speed cameras crammed in, in all my life! It took a flippin age for us to get there as we seemed to do the entire journey at 27mph.
Lovely venue, but not going this year as it clashes with Weston Lawns.
