Have no flat fields, so horses have been in for their 3rd day now. Yard is now covered in frozen snow too. They all seem quite content. snow is so deep up to shetlands belly so dont think I will risk even trying to put them out for a leg stretch. Feel a bit guilty keeping them in but think probably the safest thing to do.

Our yard has 7 in big field with 2 bales hay ledge , they are well rugged with trees for shelter they will have to stay till road to yard better. 8 at stables on full livery tractor cleared path to sand turnout yesterday so they go out stretch legs . It's very bad here in north Wales.. My sons new horse being vetted tomorrow but lord know when I can get my lorry out its under a snowdrift!!! So can't collect her yet..

Mine are out on the hillside, the snow is nearly up to the grey's knees (15hh) but I have cleared an area and put hay out on it and they are staying there (sensible neddies). They'll be stabled overnight/out during the day until the snow has cleared and the post snow sogginess has gone. Then they will be back out 24/7.

ETA. Yesterday morning I needed to clear the snow from the gateway as it was snowed shut. I then needed to clear it again in the afternoon. It's still snowing, so I expect that I'll be clearing it again later! :(

Ours are in. We can't open the door far enough to get them out without some REALLY serious digging. So far we have spent plenty of time and energy digging the snow away so that we can get in and out and don't know when we we will able to start on digging the snow mountain in the middle of the yard. The weather is atrocious, the cob has a foot abscess and fortunately they are all very calm. If the wind stops blowing the snow back to where we've just dug we will try to get the door open far enough for them to at least stretch their legs.

Flipping heck P! The wind drifting the snow is making it much, much worse for you. I hope it stops soon.
