Its really stupid but I can't get out past my driveway - complete sheet of ice from the bottom of my drive to the top of my road.

I have been trying all day to get the car out but it just slides back - for gods sake - how stupid is that.

So annoyed - I can't get to do my horse and have had to cancel clients today.

Not looking good for tomorrow either!

The worst part is that my 4x4 is at the yard!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a nightmare, poor you! Have you got any cat litter (no not gone mad), but if you spread that on the snow/ice it might well give you enough grip to get out.

I managed to get to the Post Office this morning in the old Defender and was just congratulating myself for getting all the parcels posted when I discovered that the Royal Mail cant get to us to collect it....

Oh no. I do have cat litter but only 1 small bag - Me thinks thats not enough.

Its crazy, If I could just get that half mile I would be in Town where they do grit!

Ah, I see your problem. half a mile might need an awful lot of cat litter!! How frustrating not to have your 4x4. I would say your best hope might be to keep a look out and if it snows again go then as it *might* have covered the sheet ice enough to give you enough grip to get you up there

Have walked it twice today already. ( should say slid it)

Sorry didn't make it clear - I have half a mile of mainly sheet ice before I get to a road that has been gritted to the drive 8 miles to the yard. The last 2 miles to the yard will be ungritted lanes too.

I should have been working in Tonbridge today and should be there again tomorrow! not sure if I am going to make it though.

I shoul be working near Southampton on Sunday but someone said its snowing heavily there!

I live in hope - mind you I will need to avoid the graveyard of abandoned cars on the way up!
