my 2 horses are both on restricted turnout, 1 recovering from tendon injury, the other lame. they have both been really good and settled until today.

Change in temperature plus pretty windy meant they were both b******s to turn out and had bouncing on the spot at times.

One is a real drip at the best of times and hates wind but i wonder whether anyone elses horses are like this.

They are both rugged appropriatley .

Yes weather/time of year etc

Hot weather slow as a slug/dead as lead!
Windy weather goes mad and gallops around in excitement, the windier the better(trees and hedges moving add to the effect)Livlier.
Spring springy lamb, full of itself, very greedy can be a bit bolshy too
Winter likes the cold the colder the fresher...in fact thats his best time of year

Section D Hairy monster Cob! Definitely a pattern

Yep both of mine absolutely full of it. Mare came in the whole way trotting sideways. A fair few on the yard have lost their marbles.

I dont have a problem bringing in or turning out but riding can be affected by the weather. I dont even bother if its really windy, when its really crisp and cool he can get a bit forward and in the spring he can get a bit frisky.

My mare has been looney today! I turned up gave her a good scrub down on one side really de moulting her, as soon as I go to the other side, go to groom - she trys fighting the horse next to her kicking and pulling horrible faces! So we put the horse out next to her, then she was all on her toes pulling faces etc so I put her back .. take her head collar off the next minute shes flying across the field with her back legs up in the air bucking! They were so big im suprised her back legs didnt go over her head! Crazyyness!!

Captain is a terror when spring comes, he gets all over excited and throws himself around. Won't go out until the early summer but just really feels his oats, up on his toes and being a bit silly when he is being lead, which when they are 17-3hh is no laughing matter. He is already over it but for about a week he has to be watched carefully for silliness and be extra strict with him when leading, schooling etc.

Fany just gets all excited and gallops full pelt around the field.

yes thankfully - yesterday my normally keen to jump mare was dead as a dodo and I questioned if there was something wrong with her - refusing to get out of trot, knocking everything down.

Today, she worked really hard and was whizzing around as if she had a firework up her backside.

She is on a bare paddock and I took her off her calmer but it must have been the sudden drop in temp that got her going- have to say I was quite relieved as she has been so slow the last couple of weeks.
