Hi does anyone have EVA stable matting ? - Ive seen some for £16 per mat on ebay (vs £35-40 for traditionally rubber) and wondered what you thought.

Its light weight, and just wondered being light weight and more foamy would it move around more and wear quicker, with more chance of stuff getting caught underneath. Also wondered if its pourace with wee soaking in. and whether being foamy it becomes uneven

Ive learnt many a lesson, buying cheap and then buying twice.

BTW its for a half tonne cob - so quite heavy!!

thanks in advance

Dont know if our is EVA, but we've had foamy matting for over 10 years. It's impervious to water, easy to clean, light to handle and stands up really well to shod horses. (Half ton cob too!)

I cant remember where it came from, but could look up the invoices of you like - pm me!

REmembered----- Davis & Co, Kettering - think they call themselves equimat now.

i've got EVA, the mayomats which are lovely and thick.
i had the Davis and Co Equimats years ago but the interlocking jigsaw parts warped and bent, it was rubbish tbh.
the mayomats have been down a couple of years now and are unmarked and as new, i wouldn't have rubber mats again, these are much warmer and softer for the horses.

hi , i also have the EVA mats. mine are the extra thick ones from stable comfort, think they are the same as mayo mats.they are excellent in every way. i have had them for 6 years now and they are still in very good condition. i would never have normal rubber they are just too hard, mine are so comfy its like walking on thick carpet in slippers

I have mayo ones and I'd recommend them. They are more expensive than plain rubber, but I can clean out underneath them without requiring 4 burly men to help.

Me too. The ones I have are easy to sweep so mucking out is quick. We have one stable with inherited rubber and hate it
