We have a definite four scanned and one we didn't scan as she was covered late, last minute decision... It will be obvious soon enough if she is in foal, the only worry would be twins, but she was only covered once so may be empty.
The foals from last year are so funny, they have enormous furry coats and look like rejects off Dartmoor up the road!
Only one has been rugged (Venus) the rest seem to have thick enough natural coats.
Spring/summer seems a long way away , how I long for dry fields again.. (and we are in an area that drains so well until this year I have never needed wellies, just muckers) My new aigle warm feet wellies have been well used.
I wish,i havnt got the money, time or facilities at present, seren will soon be getting too old tbh, would definately like to breed a foal again one day, would probably buy a dales mare eventually and breed with a dales stallion, they are on the rare breeds list after all, so it will be beneficial for the breed and not just me
Im having a foal at the end of march, im sending my mare to stud tho! cheating i know but id rather she was in their care to save me worrying! at least i know she's in the best hands possible
