Any other trainee riding instructors out there?

Well I'm doing my equido levels 2 and 3 atm, I know it's not the same as bhs but if I make it to level 4 I'll be an instructor :) haven't decided whether I want to specialise in ridden or groundwork yet

I took the Stage 2 care in October and am entered for riding and lunging next month. I am thinking of doing the PTT next as I regularly train, coach and facilitate at work and have completed Training Foundation courses on all 3.

Hi I really want to become an instructor at the moment I work full time as a groom in a riding school i have done stage 1 and done parts of my stage 2 the problem I have is I get really nervous in exams! I have also done my extended diploma in equine management. i have some question for the people who r doing the ukcc how do u go about finding out about them like where they r 2 etc and r they mainly portfolio based or r their exams as well? Hopefully someone can help me thanks :)

I have done my stage 1 and I am hoping to do stage 2 this summer but need to sort doing my riding and road safety asap

Anyone out there

I'm a bit frustrated at the moment - I'm 4 weeks into my PTT course, which is very interesting. I'm just a bit frustrated as I work full time (office hours), so I feel like I hardly have any time spare to practice / research etc. I'd love to visit my local RS and watch some lessons, and need to pluck up the courage to practice teaching a few different riders (I have little experience). Sorry little point to this moan other than to vent!

Shame you're not in Kent otherwise you could have come out to practice on us!

Nice one Kat, riding and road safety should be fine, I did a short course (3 evenings I think) before I took it which helped massively as they go through everything beforehand so you just have to do it right on the day.

Nori, always the way haha! I just struggle to put myself 'out there' if you know what I mean, as not very confident. I'm also a bit worried about the whole insurance issue, I can't really get insured for anything under £350 because I'm not qualified, and that's money I could be spending on exam fees.

The PTT course was really good, and I now wished I'd put in for the exam afterwards. There's an exam at the venue I did my S2 in October, so might aim for that date, I find I'm more focused if I have a deadline to hit (aren't we all). Hope everyone else is getting on ok.

It took me a while to sort out Riding and Road Safety so haven't booked my stage two yet and I am struggling to find a venue for that as two local places have stopped offering stage two. Trying to decide how much training I need and how much I can do elsewhere.
