Hi my generator won't start on wagon?? When I turn the key just goes something like 'eughw' then nothing. Was working fine before - don't use it a lot but didn't have hook up last wkend and needed it then nothing!!!

Just wonder if any one has any ideas of things worth checking -before getting a professional to it- have checked fuses so far - can't see spark plug but suppose there is one somewhere - it's a suntom??

Any help appreciated

when mine did this we replaced the spark plug and that sorted it. i'm really no expert though.
you could check fuel filter too, and obv make sure it has enough fuel in it...
if it's diesel it might need 'bleeding' if air has got into the fuel line.
here endeth my woefully small amount of vague knowledge of engines... i'll wait to be corrected!

Thank you both!!!xxx

I am clueless, it's a diesel asked a friend on FB and he said that deisels don't have spark plugs.

I see the little jar thing that I assume is the fuel filter - so unscrewed this then put it back(just for effect) nothing happened - not that I really expected it would!! So now most definately will need bleeding for air - any clues how to do that?

Did manage to check for oil and that looks ok.

If it's not turning over / just sort of starts to turn over then you probably need to charge the battery. If it's like mine it has it's own separate battery to those of the lorry.

^^^^^THIS^^^^^^

Also, if the little jar was empty, then there is no diesel getting to the engine...this is a bad thing.

Try the battery first.
