Any point to pointers there?......

Mum has just sent off my horses registration forms to point to point. We are just ordering silks now etc so want to know if there are any other little things he will need? (I know he will need saddle etc and all the big things) but need to know of all the small little things we could need?

I'll ask Rosie to come on and answer but I expect vicijp will come on soon and tell you all you need to know.
Off the top of my head though - what weight will your race be? Will you need to carry extra lead. You must have the best crash hat, you must have something to stop your saddle slipping back. Proper racing back protector, probably goggles.
Bet there's lots more too

Do you belong to a hunt? If so, you can almost certainly race in the members albeit with extra weight penalties. Also, agree with MFH 09 - get someone experienced to help you put the gear on the horse, v.important safety wise.
Oh - and if you're lucky enough to be placed, for goodness sake don't forget to weigh in. When and where will you race btw?
 
O got experienced help for that etc (trainer). Just wondering while we are buying. We are owners (im too young to point to point) and so will be looking for a jockey etc.

Srry forgot to add we will be getting a jokcey i'm too young etc at the moment. Will need to get a breastplate and mayeb overgirth?
I will be very scared to watch my boy race round...he could potentially be good.
