My friends daughter has been having lessons for about 2 years - but I have to say the quality of tuition must be quite low as she has only just started to jump, she has never hacked out. Its not because she is no goo - I have given her lessons when she stays with me and she is a natural - a really kind, calm thoughtful rider. I want to try and find her a riding school near Maidenhead - with a recommended instructor who will push her, have decent schooled horses and good facilities.

Anyone know anywhere?

had a look at the web site - its not really suitable - the most highly qualified person there is only an AI and they are only ABRS approved. It looks more geared to a fun kids riding school. I would prefer somewhere where the instructors have been out competing themselves, have good facilities. An instructors up to I level.

Im in Maidenhead..

The only places I can think of is Snowball Farm in Burnham, Tally Ho farm in Windsor,Wayside Stables,Berkshire Riding Centre or there is Cullinghood in Pangbourne Reading.

Ill try and find some more places for you too.

Thanks everso for that - she's a great kid and her mum doesn't have much money for lessons and the daughter works in her spare time to get cash for her lessons and I am annoyed that the current riding school is taking their money and basically seems to be giving donkey rides.

All help really appreciated. Thank you very much.

A bit far away but Shana at naphill near Wycombe have pony club sessions at weekends where the kids do stable management as well. There is good hacking. Some of the older ones help out in exchange for rides.

That looks like the place - I will PM you Charlie76 The daughter is 17 - a tiny 17. She doesn't want to be in with the kids - but obviously is probably too young for the adults. But I like the grading system - it does at least mean you have something to progress, and the facilities look more like I would expect for the prices you are charging. Thanks
