Approx a fornight after trimming, is there any legit reason a rasp shouldn't/wouldnt lay flat across the sole of the hoof?

That is to say, lateral wall higher/longer than medial wall?

Chocolate orange for answers :D

So one side of the foot is longer than the other?

Was it even when it was trimmed?

Many horses produce their own 'wedges' if their leg confo isn't perfect. In fact it's pretty rare of horses to walk completely evenly, so one side wears fast than the other. It's one of the reason's shoeing can be so damaging: the shoe is almost always applied symetrically but that's not what the horse needs.

Have you watched her walk? Does she land evenly?

Bare hoofs alter a lot over the course of a few months, to accommodate the horse above, and often they end up with feet that do not look exactly the same, but the horse grows a hoof to suit itself.
