Hi,

As above really. I bought a very cheap (rhinegold?) one last year that just about lasted the summer. Any recommendations as to what to buy this year?

I have seen that Equestrian Clearance have JHL and Mark Todd ones - does anyone know if these are any good?

Thanks in advance for your help :D

I got a Gallop one really cheap from Fast Tack Direct and it's not the best made thing in the world but it fits my cob beautifully, lasted me over spring and autumn (don't rug in summer) and is still going strong for the rest of this year. Personally I'd avoid Amigo because it leaks even in the lightest rain..looks great but useless otherwise!!

I find that Weatherbeeta are very good. I also have a JHL middleweight turnout and that has proved very good. The only comment I would make about the JHL is the tail flap is not so big and sometimes I see my mare walking about with the tail flap sticking up in the air whereas Weatherbeeta and Mark Todd which are both fine and have better tail flaps.

I`ve got Amigo lightweights for my lot and really rate them, little movement, dont rub or leak...one of the girls is a rug trasher and her Amigo is still in one piece with not even a nick :D

Must be the Welsh rain but I've had a light weight and medium weight Amigo and they leak like a sieve!! Fine for dry days and very smart but I'll never spend my money on them again.

I have 2 Mark Todd rugs, had them for years and they have never leaked or rubbed. Last year I bought the lightweight 1200D Amigo and I think thats brilliant too.

Amigo, Mark Todd or JHL are all good brands. I have the Amigos and they have been brilliant. Washed and re-proofed like new every time. Never leaked!
