Can anyone recommend a good chaff to feed? I have two ponies who are in medium work, but are prone to putting on weight.
I am looking for something low calorie/sugar/ controlled energy, which can simply be added to their Speedi-beet at night time.
All suggestions welcome

I feed mollichaff calmer. It's not totally molasses-free but very low sugar etc. I have had good weight-loss results for my lami-risk good doer. It contains vits and mins. I add it to fast-fibre in the winter to make a complete feed. It's cheap and they like the taste!

I've recently been looking into molasses free chaff and ones free from alot of other things and have come across:
- just chop - can get this through our local wynnstay
- honey chop high fibre oat straw chaff - meant to be able to get this from pets at home but haven't checked this
- halleys timothy hay chop - can buy 2 bags online for around £14 each
ossichaff plain and simple - this would be too expensive for us to get due to postage costs as don't have a local supplier
haysoft hay chaff and oat chaff - again this would be too expensive for us to get online but if any local suppliers the hay chaff sounds nice.
Hope that helps!

I'm feeding my boys Just Chop at the moment, there's just chopped hay and straw and absolutely nothing else in it. It comes really tightly packed so a bag seems to last forever!!

Dengie non molassed lo alfa chaff, expensive but you don't need a lot to make the feed a nice texture, it is safe and also tasty in case they need a bigger feed for any reason.
Look out for £2.00 off notices on the bags.
