Any recommended sat navs for towing to avoid narrow roads and steep hills?

Looked a few times and never found a good solution I’m afraid! Even lorry sat navs still took me down narrow country roads. I have a 4.5t so can fit down most roads. I use google maps. If I’m going to a new place I check out the route beforehand and use the terrain view to see if I can gauge how tricky it will be. its always a bit 😱 if I get diverted due to traffic as I’m never quite sure where I’ll end up.

I wish google maps would do a lorry setting !
 
If you're going somewhere rural, I think you'll struggle to get there! I find towns more alarming and hard work than lanes to be honest, with a trailer - parked cars making streets single lane and random oncoming traffic when I technically have right of way...

You can get a lorry sat nav if that helps?

OS maps will also show narrow roads. But I’m guessing it’s not the width that bothers you, but the fact that narrow roads with passing places might require you to reverse along a narrow winding road. Planning a route round is often possible (if you can face the extra miles) but not always. And it would involve detailed use of a proper map and then old fashioned navigation.

I use an OS map, plus if necessary I'll hop onto Streetview for last min bits or where I can see possible issues from the mapping.

Gone are the days of my 38 footer tho, could be a bit of an issue getting into some places! These days the tonka toy (3.5) goes anywhere lol.
 
I've found that the good old fashioned option of route homework is the most successful - as others have said, at least you can use google earth and street view to save an actual physical check! I tried the camper/caravan/van version Co-pilot satnav which, having done a fair bit of research, seems the best for uk midsize vehicles. It does let you put in all the vehicle/outfit dimensions, so should help you avoid a lot of height/length/width issues. But, first time out (on a lengthy run I've done a couple of times with no issues) it sent me down a lane I'd never taken before marked 'not suitable for HGVs - I drive a 3.5tn so maybe not an issue, but I could also see a 135/140 degree turn ahead on this twisty lane, so i turned around and turned google maps back on.
So there are more specific tools out there, but a bit of homework is the best option!
 
We use Google maps, you can check the roads with the street view function if you want to be sure ...can see photos of the roads and how wide they are etc
 
I tried two specific lorry ones, where you input the lorry measurements and weight restrictions. That will help with weight restricted roads but they still sent me down narrow country lanes. I think because you can fit, the sat nav thinks it’s ok! Snooper and Garmin.
 
Like one of the members who posted on this question, I had a Garmin & you could put in the settings the width & height of ytour vehicle & it would steer you clear of light lanes & low bridges. Look into your settings on your satnav & see if you can adjust it. If you can't I'm afraid you'll need a new satnav.
