Have the possibility of rehoming a 12month old Staffy male. He's ok with other dogs but a bit wary of males after a Yorkshire Terrier went for him. He has his plums but I'd have him castrated.

What I wanted to know was if any male Staff owners keep them alongside male dogs of different breeds or had any experience with this as I have a castrated male Jack Russell

Not really the info you're looking for.

But I have a spayed female Staffy with a spayed Chihuahua and a Jack Russell female..

They get on really well, and never had any problems. The Chihuahua is pack leader!

I keep my male rescue staffy with a male jack russell and a male patterdale. Also have a female Dobermann. He also gets on well with my Dads male malamute. They Re some male dogs he isn't keen on, usually black labs! But giving him a home is the best thing I ever did. He is so loving and loyal. I don't think I will ever love another dog as I love him :)

Yes we rehome them into home with other males, we never do bitch to bitch rehomes (with staffs) we just rather aire on the side of caution, but with staff males we will generally (as long as they are dog friendly) place with with nay breed of male dog (again if the males are accepting) if worried though in the beginning always air on the side of caution and use a barrier or your crates for unsupervised safety, he is still a pup so I assume typical bouncy friendly puppy staffy:) they are geerally more tolerant of littlens hanging off them too, and seem to enjoy it the ones we get in to our rescue:D

Might be going to see him tomorrow, he's my cousin's step brother's dog he has to rehome him due to change of circumstances. She has him at hers for the day so may take Jimmy along see how it goes as they'll be on neutral territory.

The girls won't be a problem, Mouse ignores everybody and Dora just wants to love everyone. Jimmy may take some persuading as he's spent the last 4 of his 7yrs being the only mummy's boy.

One or both (separately lol) will have to be crated whilst we're out/at work until they're settled, we're both starting a new job on Monday so won't be out for as many hours and my mum will still be coming round to let them out half way through the day.

Might brave telling the hubby...

I have a male staff who lives with two bitches ( rottie and staff).

Iggy loves my parents male lab and they play and stay happily together, his Bestest friend in the whole world is a male American bull dog called Archie. Iggy would like to marry him.

Iggy would like to marry him.

Lol!! Not sure Jim (the Jack) will feel like that for a while. He's generally good with males, his nephew Ollie comes to stay with us sometimes, Jim gets grumpy and it puts his nose out but he comes around eventually. He spent 3yrs living with two male HWVs and he was ok.

Told hubby, we're going to meet Milo today :D

I have a male sbt who isn't castrated, I don't breed nor would I but he's done lots of showing - anyway, I've had a castrated male here to stay for ten days, who is a hyper loony type, and there were no issues. Also recently rescued spayed bitch , sbtage 16 months and all fine with her too. In fact iI've had all 3 on occasions and all fine

Milo was fine but unfortunately Jimmy was not and I don't think there's a way around it and not prepared to risk either of them gaining an injury so unfortunately Milo won't be coming to live with us :( Very disappointed but got to do what's right for both boys
