Looking at the 'what do you pay for DIY Livery' posts have made me
frown.gif
, i am currently paying £156 for a stable, for which i get 2 paddocks (summer and winter), but the 'school' is woodchip, terrible, very small and always wet, grazing isn't great, and not looked after at all, if you want it fertilised, you do it yourself and the 'YM' is a numpty.

Hacking is good, but takes ages to get to, meaning i can't really ride at the mo (used to go out in morning before 9-5 job, but need 2 hrs to get decent hacking and obv dark when i'm done).

I'm really trying to get my gelding up to some decent form and really struggling.

I spose what i'm after is how do those with similar facilities do it? Or does anyone know of a nice cheapish yard in the chobham area with good grazing and decent school

Or do i deserve a kick up the a$$?

wow that sounds alot for the facilities you have! Im not that far(essex) and i thought mine at £130 was expensive but mine has very good school and off road hacking for us direct and the yo's are fab at maintaining everything. And my yard is the most expensive around there aswell.
Personally i would look elsewhere - if you cant even ride in the winter then thats a bloomin expensive pet!

to be fair if you after getting you gelding up together I would look at going to a yard in your area that has some better facilities they dont have to be great but something that you can still work with around your working hours eg floodlit school or something.

Fields you have to do yourself and your on a yard well thats nice isnt it?...not, your YM/YO should be responsible for doing this.

I would defo look at moving tho to be honest...and I wish you lots of luck in finding the right place too

That sounds expensive, The yard im on sounds very similar to yours but grazing and school is ok and just been resurfaced and i pay £65 a month.
I think i would be looking for somewhere else if i were you.

I currently pay £90 pcm with fantastic hacking, 360 miles off road farmland and then even more when you cross some small roads. I also have 3 fields, two side by side which connect to a larger one if need be which I can rotate around between summer and winter and also two flood lit schools , one being 20x40 sand and polyfluff (bleh) and one being 20x55 rubber.

I'd have a hunt around if I were you, there's got to be something better near by!

I'm in kent btw

I am at a yard in Lyne (near Virginia Water / Chobham)
I pay £150 a month and that includes my stable, all year turn out and use of the school which is sand and rubber.
Is not a bad yard at all but lighting in school is a bit dim but it is totally useable and I don't normally ride til 7 at night.
Turn out is mares fileld and gelding fields. Although there are only two mares and 8 geldings. Fields rotate with the seasons.
We have spaces so PM if you want any futher details if it may be any good for you.

Mine is £60 a month sandschool with floodlights, jumping paddock, XC jumps round fields and off road hacking. But i am in leicstershire (near loughborough)! I would poss consider looking for another yard at least with a floodlit menage
