i have moved my throughabred at the weekend he is settling in well but lunghd last night to let him stretch his legs and not getting turned out yet until settled in properly, he had about ten minutes or so were he was full of beans and bucking away on lunge, he can sometimes be full of himself on lunge and will settle after 10 minutes or so and work fine, any ideas on helping him settle down, my other two horses dodnt bother as they are so used to being away from home competing.

Time ...............:D

He'll settle but some take months. You could introduce a calmer but they take a bit of time to work, if you move him again it is worth thinking about starting a calmer a few weeks before the move.

Get him out in the field and see if you can ride out quietly a few times in company and let him get to know his surroundings.

Hope the new yard works out.

thanks for your reply, he will go at some point this week its ahrd to fit in with new ones as they go out quite late and i have to be in work for 7am this week so he can go out at dinner maybe later on in week, he has settled in quite quick but just a bit on his toes, typical throughabred
