So, another “ help me find a horse” thread. I’m looking for s a sensible cob, cob x for hacking, fun and dressage up to elementary - eventually, needs to be 15.– 15.2 as I’ve got long legs. I’ve been out to look at so many horses and had videos sent of horses that are either lame or just not suitable from a temperament point of view. I’m capeable, but older so definitely don’t want any airs above the ground or unpredictable behaviour - has anyone any suggestions as to whee I could look???? I’m in the north of England but willing to travel for the right one.

I know of a woman who is selling a cob, hes not a fat hairy one, hes is rather nice. Think he is 6 now. I will just find out if he is still available. It would mean travelling to Scotland. Is that off limits ?
Scotland would be fine- thank you! Age is fine too 😊

What age would you be interested in? An idea of budget might help too.
I don’t mind younger but ideally 4+, temperament is most important- I’ve brought on younger horses before and have support if needed. Lower double figure budget for right horse.

Have you looked on HQ cob section. Some nice ones there but they do command pretty high prices if they’ve done a bit.

Try Becky o'Neill, York. I've no personal connection but her reputation is very good & she often has the type you are looking for.

(ETA, not a clue why the link is in German, but it leads to the correct page!)

Also worth contacting,

GeeGee Equestrian, Carlisle (good reputation for honesty but very small scale, only 3 or 4 in at a time);

Jack Thomas-Watson, Belsay Northumberland (honest as the day is long, mostly hunters and eventers but not exclusively) .

Quality Cobs - good reputation but Carmarthenshire so maybe too far for you? https://www.qualitycobs.co.uk/about/
