So ARC-IV has ERC, SA Racing funds ERC, these two control AHS, where dose this leave SA horse owners.....go buy a race horse to export !

So SA Racing controls ERC, OP VI has ERC, ARC-VI collaborates with OIE.....I think these are pretty insestuose arrangment guys ...we in the DWANG!!

Not Suprising the OIE is allowing SA horses out the country!
 
Thanks for posting the link about Equine Research Centre AHS 911, this explains exactly what their entire focus is, who 'funds' and therefore 'controls and manages' them. So really, being 'private' and 'independent' and managed by Racing SA - who are pushing like never before to have SA getting 'Recognition Status' from the OIE next year. This shows that they are certainly not there and operating on our behalf, the 'majority of horse owners' in SA. How come then, they are allowed to do so much of the testing for AHS - when they are not even the 'Official Reference Centre' for the OIE - why are they doing it for free? But just look at the 'power and control' they have - all OIE consultations with SA seem to take place with only them? They have worked their way up to the top people in DAFF, to get them on their side too. Makes me sick! When and how are we going to make them listen to us? What care in the world do they - or DAFF it seems - for the poor horse owners in rural communities - I thought our Government was supposed to be helping the 'Previously Disadvantaged' - like hell they are!! This is ALL about profit in the back pockets of the rich!!

By the way, not that I want to argue about it, but OVI-ARC certainly do not "have ERC", they have nothing to do with each other, ERC do not have to answer to or 'belong to' OVI-ARC in any way at all. That is the disaster part too, as they are both 'doing their own thing separately' when it comes to AHS and hardly communicate with each other. In fact they are even 'in competition' with one another when it comes to any available funding for AHS. OVI-ARC are the main Government Research Institute under the control and funding of DAFF. They have in the past and are supposed to continue doing AHS Research, testing of samples, reporting to the OIE and much more. In my opinion what it seems is that ERC are almost trying to 'take over power' from them, so that they become the 'main AHS controllers/reporters'.

Oh and of course Racing SA also 'own' ... 'manage'... 'fund' .. the AHS Trust so yes .... joining all the dots and what do we get? :confused:
