The story so far.....Horse has had sore back hes been treated for sacroilliac inflammation had spinal injections plus shockwave , there are two processes very close. Back pain seems to have gone but hes unsound on right hind. Hes back to bunny hopping on lunge on right rein which is why I called vet out initially .Hes had suspensories scanned they were ok 6 weeks ago, plus vet has looked at his hock and doesnt think its spavin. He has new saddle although I havent ridden in it !!!! as hes not right ,plus his teeth have been done. Ive been working with chiro to build up his topline.
Still not happy with me picking out front left leg (diagonal to sore hind)
Doesnt want to lunge off right rein
Never been naughty under saddle but couldnt canter on right rein
Looks very fluid on left rein
He works long and low ridden
No real lack of impulsion
Was girthy but ok with sleeve
Saddle was tight on left wither (much bigger) but that has been addressed now
Ideally vet would like to nerve block but hes bit phobic as he had bad accident with electric tape year ago and now has trust issues, we are still making progress with new people ,farriers and esp vets.
I have vet out again on wednesday he wants me lunging him as hes bit spirited (bored youngster) and then will watch him ridden again. He was completely sound 6 weeks ago !!
Any ideas ???????
Ive looked into sacroilliac online and normal signs are lack of impulsion not tracking up and similiar lameness on both reins. It doesnt seem to apply.Im really stumped and wondered if anyone had any suggestions or similiar experience.
